Mr. Hayden Romano

Mr. Romano is the Managing Director of the EMA. He has extensive experience in the environmental, manufacturing and construction sectors throughout the Caribbean Region, a career spanning over thirty years.

An Engineering Geologist by training, Mr. Romano commenced his career at the Institute of Marine Affairs (IMA) as a Research Assistant, and ascended to leadership roles as an Engineering Geologist, Consultant, Operations Manager, General Manager and Chief Executive Officer in various companies in the construction and manufacturing sectors.

Preceding his appointment as Managing Director of the EMA, he was the General Manager, of the Authority’s Technical Services Department.

Mr. Romano has lectured part-time at the University of the West Indies, St. Augustine, in the Engineering Geology and Petroleum Geosciences disciplines. 

Mr. Romano graduated with a BSc degree in Geology from the University of the West Indies, Mona, Jamaica and an MSc Engineering Geology from the Leeds University, UK. He is a Member of the Geological Society of Trinidad and Tobago, a Chartered Geologist, Fellow of the Geological Society of London, UK and Chartered Scientist, London, UK.
