MEDIA RELEASE – Environmental Management Authority builds capacity in renewable energy in Spain

A delegation from the Environmental Management Authority (EMA) participated in a study tour to Spain from 24–27 March 2025. The tour, facilitated under the European Union–Caribbean Cooperation Facility (EU-CCF) through the International and Ibero-American Foundation for Administration and Public Policies (FIIAPP), focused on environmental impact assessment tools related to the construction, commissioning, and decommissioning of wind and solar farms.

The study tour fostered the exchange of best practices and strategies in renewable energy  between the EMA and key Spanish agencies, including the Ministry for Ecological Transition and Demographic Challenge (MITECO), the Spanish Office for Climate Change (OECC), the Institute for Energy Diversification and Saving (IDAE) and the Directorate General for Renewable Energies and Climate Change of the Department of Environment and Climate Change of the Xunta de Galicia.
