The Environmental Management Authority (EMA) recently hosted its Fourth Quarterly/End-of-
Year Meeting, where the Senior Environmental Analysis and Coordination Manager, Wayne
Rajkumar, addressed Environmental Officers (EOs) from various government ministries and
agencies. He indicated that in 2025 the EMA will be making some strategic intervention and
reengineering of the EO programme that will allow for greater effectiveness of activities designed to address critical environmental challenges facing Trinidad and Tobago. The meeting brought together EOs from a wide range of organisations, including the Ministries of Planning and Development, Works and Transport, Public Utilities, Housing and Urban Development, Finance, Foreign and CARICOM Affairs, as well as key agencies such as the Institute of Marine Affairs (IMA), the Caribbean Industrial Research Institute (CARIRI), the Water and Sewerage Authority (WASA), and the National Energy Corporation (NEC) of Trinidad and Tobago, among others.
